Guelph Royals (IBL): It’s been tough, or we should say rough. The four-game slide has now become seven after losses against the Jackfish last Tuesday, the Red Sox on Saturday and then in a trip to Welland Sunday where only one run was scored. The Royals aren’t at the bottom of the IBL yet, but they might be if they don’t change their luck this Saturday when basement dwelling Branford comes back to town.
Guelph United FC (League1 Ontario): They won some and they lose some. The men scored one goal on Friday to successfully take the win from North Mississauga 1-0, but the women couldn’t get passed the Simcoe County Rovers on Sundy and got shutout 0-2. The men are tied for fourth in the League1 Championship division while the women are struggling in sixth place in the League1 Premier Division.
Guelph Storm (OHL): The 2025/26 Guelph Storm season will begin at home against the Erie Otters on Friday September 19 at 7 pm at the Sleeman Centre. It will be the first of 34 games played on home ice. You can see the full schedule here.
Guelph Silvercreeks (OBA): At least the Silvercreeks are keeping baseball dreams alive locally. Last Wednesday at Hastings, the ‘Creeks doubled up on the Ancaster Angels 17-8, which is all the more impressive since Guelph only got nine hit that whole game compared to 16 for the Angels. Still at home, the Silvercreeks play the Welland Jr Jackfish tonight.
