Guelph Storm (OHL): It was another bad weekend for the Storm as they took two hard losses, the first one was at home on Friday where they let the Spitfires get one by them losing 7-8 in overtime, and then they headed to Erie where they lost by one goal again to the Otters 2-3 in regulation. This losing trend has forced the Storm from third place in the Central Division and they’re now one point behind Owen Sound and tied for 12th overall in the OHL with the Kingston Frontenacs. This Friday, March will come in with an Attack, as Owen Sound come to the Sleeman Centre for the Friday night and then on Sunday, the Saginaw Spirit come to town.
Guelph Gryphons (OUA): It may still be winter, but it was a good weekend for Track & Field! At the OUA Track & Field Championships in Windsor, endurance runner Julia Agostinelli secured four medals including a gold in the 1000m race and the 4x400m relay race while fellow endurance runner on the men’s side, Max Davies, set a new record for the 1000m race, shaving three seconds off the previous record by completing the run 2:20.22. Not only did Agostinelli and Davies secure the Gryph's Locker Athletes of the Week honours, but they secured OUA Athletes of the Week status too, which is also Agostinelli’s second time as an OUA Athlete of the Week this season.
