The U of G will object to the heritage designation they asked for, there will be discussions about the downtown height study and the affordable housing improvement plan, and the business case for a passenger rail connection between Gulph and Cambridge will be presented. February is Human Trafficking Awareness Month in Canada, so Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis are hosting two events: a panel discussion on the theme of “Wrapping Around: Mobilizing Our Community to Support Survivors of Human Trafficking” on February 19 from 12-1:30 pm at 10C, and a screening of Viveka Melki’s Trafficked Voices at Silence on Saturday February 22 at 7 pm.
There will an open house for the Ward West Heritage Conservation District project on Thursday, February 20 between 4:30 and 6:30 pm at the Italian Canadian Club. It’s a drop-in!
The Rotaract Club of Guelph will hold their annual charity gala on March 7 at 6pm at the Summerlee Science Complex on the University of Guelph campus. The event will support The Nightingale Centre, a not-for-profit organization supporting grieving children, youth and families.

Work is underway on overhead electrical infrastructure at the intersection of Imperial Road North and Massey Road now and for the next two weeks too.
There will be inspections of the Metrolinx rail bridge over Wyndham Street North, Wilson Street, and Norfolk Street for four days starting on Tuesday February 11.
